Charlatan

Ann Avery at Northrop and Johnson tells me that she has signed the 33.8m ketch Charlatan for sale.

Charlatan was built by Alloy Yachts in 1998. Her design by Ron Holland is very traditional with sheer, counter stern, teak decks, yet she is equipped with modern in-furling booms, bow and stern thrusters, a hydraulic transom and other amenities you would expect of a 21st century home. She has a classic wood interior by Redman Whiteley Dixon, and accommodates 6 guests in 3 cabins.

This superyacht underwent an extensive refit at the Pendennis shipyard in 2008. At that time the entire boat was painted; her rig was completely serviced including the reheading of all rod rigging and replacement of running rigging; the engine was serviced and the generators were rebuilt; her navigation and communication equipment was upgraded and WiFi was installed throughout the yacht. Thus a new owner can begin cruising immediately with no major maintenance expected for years to come.

Charlatan is asking $7 million and will be on display at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October.
