Superyacht Sapphire sold by A1 Yacht Trade Consortium

20 April 2011 • Written by Malcolm MacLean

A real scoop here as George Hapipis at A1 Yacht Trade Consortium calls to say the company acted for the buyer in the sale of the new 73.5m motor yacht Sapphire, dealing directly with the yard.

A joint listing with Edmiston & Company and Merle Wood & Associates, Sapphire was only delivered from the Nobiskrug yard yesterday and is now under operational and technical management with A1 Yacht Trade Consortium.

Built to Germanischer Lloyds class and MCA compliant, she accommodates 12 guests in six staterooms with an interior designed by Newcruise and executed by Metrica.

Sapphire also features zero speed stabilisers and a touch and go heli-pad, with twin 2360hp MTU engines giving her a cruising speed of 15 knots and a range of 5,000 nautical miles. Her asking price was €75 million and this news is particularly significant in that she's the first superyacht over 70 metres sold so far in 2011.
