Italian superyacht builder Tankoa Yachts has confirmed that its 58-metre full-custom steel and aluminium T580 is on track for launch in 2024.
The hull and superstructure of the superyacht have now been assembled and T580 has moved to the next stages of construction at Tankoa's Genoa shipyard where the engines and generators were installed. The next step will see the interior structures take shape and the remainder of the onboard machinery mounted.
The full-custom project has been designed by long-time Tankoa collaborator Francesco Paszkowski Design and has been conceived as a "World Wide Explorer” with a sporty style and a range of over 5,000 nautical miles.
Margherita Casprini has worked with Paszkowski on the interior of the yacht to create a contemporary theme with a neutral colour palette and plenty of wood and gloss finishes. Accommodation is spread across six cabins including an owner's cabin with fold-out balcony.
Other amenities include a forward helideck, large beach club with sea terraces and a gym and pool set-up on the sundeck. A garage will be able to accommodate a nine-metre limo tender and a glass-encased corridor will stretch from the beach club to the cabins directly through the engine room, offering a glimpse at the inner workings of the superyacht.
The sale of T580 was announced in 2021 with Giancarlo Mussino, managing director of Sinos S.A., introducing the buyer. The firm will continue to represent the client throughout construction.
“This new yacht, our first 58 metre, is the result of years of collaboration between the Paszkowski studio and Tankoa,” said Eva Orsi, president of Tankoa Yachts. “I am proud of this new project, which for the owner represents an evolution of their previous 50-metre yacht."
Tankoa is a relatively young yard with seven yachts in its fleet and a further seven in build or on order, according to BOATPro. The yard's largest custom build is 72-metre Solo, which is based on the same S701 platform of smaller sister Suerte.
