YPI sells Sanlorenzo superyacht Onyx with Ocean Independence

Hot news just in from Yachting Partners International that Gregory Gheraia closed today on the sale of the 38.5m motor yacht Onyx, listed for sale by Peter Hurzeler and Axel Douque at Ocean Independence. This is the first sale of a yacht over 30m in 2014.

Onyx was built by Italian superyacht yard Sanlorenzo in 2009 to ABS class and is one of the innovative series of aluminium superyachts from the yard called the Alloy 40 range. Radical features include four folding platforms that create exclusive lateral terraces on the main deck: two in the living area and two in the owner’s cabin, bringing the outside into the yacht.

MCA compliant, her Francesco Paszkowski interior accommodates 10 guests in a main deck master suite, VIP stateroom and a double and two twins, all with en suite facilities. Twin 2,775 MTU engines give her a cruising speed of 22 knots and a range of 850 nautical miles at 17 knots.

'The more you get to know Onyx, the more she offers up in terms of technology, great design and performance,' says Gheraia. 'She is an exciting yacht and is going to a great new owner. I would also like to thank Axel Douque at OCI for his help throughout this transaction.'

Onyx was asking €9.9 million.
