Eighth Sanlorenzo 500EXP explorer launched

The eighth unit in Sanlorenzo’s 47.2m 500EXP explorer yacht range has hit the water for the first time.

It comes after sale of the ninth unit in December 2020. Boasting exterior design penned by Francesco Paszkowski, the 500EXP is an evolution of the yard’s smaller 460EXP model.

Named 500EXP in reference to the yacht’s 500GT, the yacht can carry tenders, boats and sailing boats measuring up to nine metres in length in the stern garage. Owners can also choose to carry a seaplane or submarine on board, as well as a touch-and-go helipad.

The lower deck beach club converts into a terrace overlooking the sea thanks to the opening hatch and can be converted into a garage to accommodate tenders and toys.

Elsewhere, the interior includes materials such as prestigious woods, crystal, marble and precious fabrics and leathers. “The exclusive furnishings include pieces made to measure by skilled craftsmen and companies representing the elegance of design,” the yard said.

The eighth unit will have a cruising range of 4,000 nautical miles, allowing the owners the opportunity to enjoy “complete autonomy in far-off locations.”
