Uroš Pavasović unveils 60m yacht concept inspired by hanging gardens of Babylon

London-based yacht designer Uroš Pavasović has unveiled a 60-metre superyacht concept known as Babylon, which draws inspiration from the “hanging gardens of Babylon”.

According to Pavasović, the concept "reimagines the contemporary expanding stern by looking at ancient architectural references”. This approach has resulted in a multi-level stern arrangement where the main deck, beach club and swim platform connect through cascading steps.

Babylon incorporates diverse guest areas ranging from sheltered, intimate spaces to expansive open terraces providing panoramic views. The design features a Jacuzzi positioned discreetly in the corner of the swim platform, creating what Pavasović describes as a "cosy yet highly social environment" while maintaining extensive sea views.

Pavasović notes that relocating the Jacuzzi from the centreline allows the swim platform to function as a more versatile, multifunctional area suitable for dining, sunbathing or waterside entertainment. The stern area also includes fold-down balconies on both sides for space expansion, hydraulic steps for sea access and a sauna in the connecting beach club. According to the designer, the result is "architectural, organic and highly experiential”.

Other notable features of the design include a spiral staircase and lift connecting all four decks, a second Jacuzzi positioned forward on the sundeck and a touch-and-go helipad on the foredeck. There is also a tender garage located on the main deck forward that can accommodate an 8.5-metre limousine tender, a 6.5-meter crew rescue tender, as well as two jet skis.

Babylon provides accommodation for 12 guests across six cabins. The master suite, located on the main deck, spans the full 10.5-metre beam and includes an en-suite bathroom, private office and his-and-hers walk-in wardrobes. Meanwhile, five additional en-suite guest cabins are situated on the lower deck.
