Italian shipyard Tankoa Yachts has announced the sale of a new 72-metre full custom superyacht known as T720 Fenice to an American owner.
The client was introduced by owner’s representative Matt Von Bishop and TWW Yachts broker Jean-Claude Carme. The deal marks a further step in the yard’s expansion into the US market and highlights its growing presence in the 70-metre-plus segment.
The T720 Fenice is a full custom project developed around the owner’s brief from the earliest stages. Exterior design is by Team for Design – Enrico Gobbi, marking the first collaboration between the studio and Tankoa, while interiors have been entrusted to Giorgio Cassetta.
With a length of 72 metres, the yacht is expected to become the second flagship in Tankoa’s fleet upon delivery in 2030, alongside 72-metre Casino Royale (formerly Solo), delivered in 2018.
According to the shipyard, the project builds on the earlier T680 Fenice concept, evolving into a more advanced and refined design. Tankoa added that the owner has been closely involved in the development process from the outset, contributing to the yacht’s highly tailored specification.
The yard noted how the sale underscores Tankoa’s continued focus on full custom superyachts, working in collaboration with owners and international design studios to deliver bespoke projects.
According to BOATPro, the yard has 10 projects on order or in build.
