Emerging Turkish yacht designer Alperen Aslan has unveiled a new 35-metre yacht concept called Soie.
Derived from the French word for "silk", the concept is intended to "translate the fluid movement, softness and elegant drape of woven silk into contemporary yacht design".
As such, Soie is characterised by a combination of sculptural aesthetics and modern, high-performance naval architecture. She boasts monolithic dark-glass bands and a distinguishing vertical bow, both creating a bold and athletic silhouette.
Defined by her clean exterior lines, Aslan has taken care to add integrated air-intake vents so as not to interrupt her hull surfaces.
External spaces have been crafted with privacy and seamlessness at the forefront of her design. An integrated Jacuzzi embodies this tenet, located on her expansive flybridge and accompanied by a private foredeck lounge.
Up to 10 guests can be comfortably accommodated in five cabins, including a main-deck master suite equipped with a dedicated dressing room and a marble-clad en suite bathroom. A focal point of this space is the mechanical fold-out hull balcony, which, when deployed, provides an open-air terrace space.
In keeping with Aslan's elegant and contemporary design philosophy, Soie's interiors boast soft recessed LED lighting and floating furniture elements with soft, rounded edges, evoking an open and sophisticated interior atmosphere.
The main saloon area has been designed with open-plan entertaining in mind; lounge seating and custom marble coffee tables accompany an integrated TV unit that functions as a space divider.
Soie features a semi-displacement hull, which aims to deliver stability and efficiency at low speeds while maintaining agility at higher speeds. Fitted with an advanced zero-speed stabiliser system, Aslan has ensured that Soie provides maximum comfort when at sea and at anchor.
The young designer is also the brain behind a 65-metre yacht concept designed as a "living planet". Unveiled earlier this year, the yacht known as Avora was created in line with a "bio-fusion" philosophy, described as combining the "elegance of living organisms with Ancient Egyptian craftsmanship and the futuristic aesthetics of galactic space".
