74m Amels yacht Synthesis redelivered following refit at Damen Yachting

Dutch shipyard Damen Yachting has announced the redelivery of its 74-metre Amels yacht Synthesis following extensive refit works at the yard's facilities in Vlissingen. 

Originally delivered in 2021, Synthesis first hit the water in August 2020 as the fifth unit from the yard's Amels 242 Limited Editions series, penned by British designer Tim Heywood. British studio Winch Design was responsible for the yacht's interiors, winning her "Best Interior Design, Motor Yachts 500GT and Above" at the 2022 Design & Innovation Awards.

Notable highlights for the judges included Synthesis’s casual living approach, with rooms that could be configured in multiple ways to host large groups of friends and family, such as the removal of the main deck dining saloon. Accommodation is for 12 guests on board across an interior volume of 1,790GT. Crew accommodations are for 18 plus the captain. 

Details of the refit works completed remain private, though the yard highlighted its refit capabilities, which are supported by "knowledge, craftsmanship and technical expertise". For existing Amels builds, the yard also benefits from access to teams with a prior understanding of the original build, reducing the time, complexity and cost of the works.

With our knowledge of her design, engineering and build history, combined with the discipline and craftsmanship of a full-scale new build yard, we are able to help preserve her character while preparing her for the future.”

According to BOATPro, the yard currently has eight new build projects under development, including five Amels 80 builds and the yard's flagship, which is due for delivery this year.
