The majority of Australia is unaffected by bushfires and remains open for business to visiting superyacht owners, an Australian superyacht agent has said.

Referencing a number of “inaccurate stories shared about the bushfires”, the group said it wished to “reassure owners that the vast majority of Australia is not impacted by bushfires.”

It added that Australia is “open for business” and “operating as usual.”

“In true Australian spirit, we are all doing our best now to play our part by utilising the goods and services of those businesses in regional communities impacted by the fires,” it said in a statement.

“We strongly urge superyachts not to cancel their plans to come to Australia and encourage you to continue to your incredible Australian experience of a lifetime.”

It comes after the premiere for Queensland, Annastacia Palaszczuk MP, echoed this message and encouraged tourists not to call off their trips to the country.

She said: “There are large parts of our beautiful country that are not affected, for example, in my home state of Queensland, that is twice the size of Texas, we have no threatening fires. Queensland has more than 4,000 miles of beautiful coastline, tropical islands and, of course, the Great Barrier Reef.”
