Italian yard Benetti has announced its largest addition to the Oasis series yet at this year's Cannes Yachting Festival. The Oasis 42M is a "natural evolution" of the previous flagship, the Oasis 40M, with the first unit already sold and scheduled for launch in 2027.
Major upgrades from the Oasis 40M include modifications to the yard's patented Oasis Deck, in which unfolding gunwales on the lower deck create overwater balconies. The new configuration features an 8.3-square-metre pool (among the largest in this size category), complete with a retractable enclosure that converts the aft deck into an uninterrupted, 100-square-metre space.
British studio RWD has returned for exterior design on the new model, with fellow long-standing collaborator Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture leading the design of the interiors.
"The Oasis 42M is an evolution, not a revolution," explained Mark Gardner, RWD's director of exterior design. "Softer, pebble-like lines create a yacht that feels sleek, natural, and enduringly elegant."
The main deck has also been reimagined, with the owner's cabin (and its private terrace) relocated to the upper deck to leave space for a flexible wellbeing area that can be personalised as a gym, spa or cinema, with the option of installing a second drop-down terrace. This new space forms part of four interconnected zones across the main deck, including a panoramic saloon, a dining area attached to the Oasis Deck and a professional galley.
Another competitive offering is the 17.3-metre sundeck, which is the largest in the 40- to 45-metre segment according to the Italian yard. The space offers a spa pool, bar, lounge and a generous foredeck, with the latter designed to ensure the client has three distinct outdoor social areas "for every mood", complemented by the sundeck and aft deck.
"We are very proud that now, with the Oasis 42M, we have a chance to create a true evolution of [the Oasis 40M]," added designer Enrico Bonetti. "The focus is still on an open and fluid plan [and] unexpected and consistent materials that gradually progress toward a more refined and tactile quality of details, the deeper you enter."
On the technical side, the Oasis 42M will integrate a data-driven engineering package that reduces fuel consumption and emissions, while a hybrid Siemens E-Mode option offers advanced, sustainable cruising without compromising performance.
According to BOATPro, Benetti has an impressive 45 yacht projects on order or under construction. The Italian yard also took the opportunity of this year's show to unveil its new B.Neos model, with UK-based Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design selected to develop its sailing yacht-inspired lines.
