British shipyard Pendennis has announced the arrival of the classic 41.7-metre Feadship motor yacht Gin-Tonic to its facilities in Falmouth, Cornwall.
The superyacht is preparing to begin a significant refit programme, which the yard noted will be a "complete transformation". Works will include a series of substantial structural modifications, including stern and bridge deck extensions to increase performance and enhance the living space on board.
She will also be fitted with two new main engines and will undergo a comprehensive paint application to both her hull and superstructure to restore her exterior. This initial refit phase is expected to continue into early 2027.
“We are delighted to welcome Gin-Tonic to Falmouth," said Pendennis sales manager, Paul Griffiths. "Our previous expertise in stern extensions and transformative refits, coupled with the comprehensive capabilities of our in-house trades, makes the project exactly the right fit for Pendennis.”
Giles Bassett will act as the owner's representative throughout the refit works alongside James Fiske of Tillow Marine, who has been appointed by the owners to oversee the programme. Fiske commented: “Giles and I look forward to working closely with the whole team in supporting this complex and demanding schedule of works and in ensuring the redelivery of the yacht to her owners in 'as new condition'.”
Gin-Tonic was delivered in 1981 by Dutch shipyard Feadship as one of three commissioned by the same owner in the 1980s. Frits De Voogt was responsible for the yacht's exterior design and naval architecture, while the interiors were penned by British designer Mark Whiteley.
The refit announcement comes after the yacht was sold to new owners in December last year.
