Damen Shipyards Group has launched Damen Yachting, a new division that will oversee and encompass the entire group’s yachting portfolio.
The new division will oversee the yacht ranges of Amels and Damen, including Amels’ Limited Editions range, SeaXplorers and Yacht Support.
It will also include Full Custom yachts and refit services. The builder said the division will “bring together the entire yachting portfolio designed to meet the broadest spectrum of yachting needs with fast delivery”.
The new division will be led by managing director Rose Damen and will be based out of the group’s Vlissingen city yard, which already houses Amels’ production facilities.
Speaking about the launch, Damen Yachting managing director Rose Damen said she was “immensely proud to be leading” the new division.
“In bringing the entire yachting portfolio together, we are further strengthening our operations, fortifying our in-house expertise and teams of specialist craftsmen and women and guaranteeing maximum efficiency across the world’s best yacht building facilities,” she said.
“We are all facing the current and future challenges of COVID 19 but this new organisational structure puts us in a strong position for success. The diversity within the portfolio is a reflection of what modern yachting is all about and I am very excited to be taking on this next chapter in my family’s shipbuilding history.”
