Heesen recently reported the successful sea trialling of its new 65m flagship Galactica Star.

'Expectations became reality when I was on board during the trials of Galactica Star. The achieved maximum speed, which was almost two knots above the contractual speed, exactly matched the predictions,' says Perry van Oossanen, of Van Oossanen Naval Architects, who developed her revolutionary Fast Displacement Hull Form. 'Furthermore, the behaviour of the yacht in waves was very smooth and comfortable, and the excellent manoeuvrability was in line with our calculations. Motor yacht Galactica Star is the ultimate proof of the high performance of the Fast Displacement Hull Form. We are grateful to Heesen Yachts for their belief in us as naval architects and for the opportunity to be able to apply our new hull form to their new flagship.'

Mark Cavendish, Heesen sales director, comments, 'Heesen is delighted with the result of the sea trials, which proves that our investment in advanced technology has paid off. Galactica Star combines exceptional high speeds with impressive fuel economy at lower long-range cruising speed.'

Galactica Star will be delivered at the end of June.
