Venetian shipyard Ocean King has revealed the interiors of its 36.8-metre Vãyus following her triumphant debut at the Venice International Boat Show last month. The yacht is the first unit in the builder's Ducale 120 series, which focuses on high volumes married with generous al fresco areas.

The name, Vãyus takes inspiration from the Hindu deity and god of wind Vayu.

The full-displacement steel and aluminium superyacht hit the water in April at the shipyard in Choggia. She marks a departure from the rugged explorer yachts that Ocean King is best known for but retains some explorer elements, including an estimated range of 5,500 nautical miles.

Naval architecture on the 334GT model is by inNave and Ginton Naval Architects.

The yacht has a heated, freshwater pool and a saltwater pool

Exterior highlights include a pair of pools, with an aft deck pool that's filled with saltwater and overlooks a sizeable swim platform that can be fitted with loose furniture. The second pool is freshwater, and it's positioned on the forward portion of the sundeck overlooking the bow area, where there is an alternative seating spot. In total, Vãyus offers 250 square metres of useable exterior space.

Shading on the sundeck keeps the space well-suited to all-day entertaining, with a seating area, bar and sunpads bordering the pool. The cockpit on the main deck aft has another shaded seating arrangement that spans the full 8.5-metre beam and features low-slung sofas and coffee tables.

A "winter garden" style arrangement characterises the upper deck

The upper deck has been sensibly conceived as an indoor-outdoor space, with concertina doors that allow the interior area to function as an enclosed cinema room or as an extension of the exterior. There is dining for up to ten on this deck, alongside a casual seating area with crescent sofas, perfect for coffees or aperitivi.

The main deck has an interior saloon with sliding glass windows on both sides, which span from floor to ceiling. There is sofa seating located aft, with formal dining forward. Trieste-based VYD Studio has helmed both the interior and exterior styling, using a muted colour palette and minimal themes to keep the yacht feeling uncluttered and calm.

Natural light has been prioritised throughout

Forward of the main saloon is the owner's cabin, which is full-beam and leaves plenty of space for views to flood in. There is a glass vanity to starboard and a marble en suite positioned forward, with discreet lightning in the overheads and blonde wood flooring that keeps the space feeling bright and airy.

In total, Vãyus can accommodate ten guests with further provision for seven crew which includes a dedicated captain’s cabin on the upper deck next to the wheelhouse.

Ten guests can be accommodated in total

Powered by traditional diesel engines, Vãyus will have a top speed of 14 knots. She will make her international debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2023 later this year.

Alongside the Ducale 120, the yard also has a model called the DOGE GT 400 in the works. The unit has been sold and delivery is expected in 2023.
