Edoardo Ridoli unveils 70-80m superyacht concept Genesis

Italian designer Edoardo Ridoli has unveiled a new 70- to 80-metre superyacht concept known as Genesis.

According to the designer, the yacht has been developed around a fast-displacement hull platform as a contemporary interpretation of "proportion, presence and personal ambition". As such, a notably dynamic profile characterises the design, comprising controlled proportions, long horizontal lines and a layered arrangement of decks. Extensive dark glazing adds to the appeal, offset against bright white paint for a sharp and contemporary finish.

The result, as Ridoli noted, is a silhouette that appears composed and elegant from a distance, while up close it reveals a more sporty and assertive character.

Inside, Genesis has been developed to offer an "architectural approach" to life on board, where the relationship between the owner, the interior spaces and the sea is central to the experience. The yacht spans four decks plus a dedicated sundeck, each drawn as part of a coherent profile, rather than an independent space.

Core to this is the deliberate expansion of the interior and exterior dialogue, achieved via expansive glazed surfaces, long panoramic openings and blended architectural boundaries - all chosen to maximise natural light and maintain uninterrupted views.

Exterior decks have been designed to offer a variety of experiences throughout the day, both privately and socially, from sheltered lounge areas to open sunbathing zones and elevated spaces for views over the horizon. Accommodation on board is for up to 12 guests, with a crew of 14.

The yacht will be presented privately during the upcoming Cannes Yachting Festival

The designer noted that Genesis is deliberately conceived as an open platform for customisation and is intended to evolve through collaboration with a client, from interior design and material palettes to onboard amenities, technical specifications and propulsion.

Earlier this year, Ridoli presented a design for American shipyard Hargrave Custom Yachts' new raised pilothouse (RPH) yacht platform, known as the Anemos Signature E-Series.
