Granocean and Sparkman & Stephens develop long-range cruising yacht Monoposto 147

Vincent Mausset at Granocean in Hong Kong and naval architects Sparkman & Stephens in the USA have worked together to develop the 45m Monoposto 147, a long range commuter motor yacht capable of cruising economically well above the customary speeds of the displacement category.

To achieve this task, priority was given to an optimum length-to-beam ratio, the most efficient hull lines and minimum cross sections allowing to keep high speeds through all sea conditions. These various options also resulted in a weight half of an equivalent length displacement yacht.

The large foredeck features an hydraulically retractable awning over the forward dining area forming, an integral part of the foredeck while underway, alternatively offering a sun shelter when moored or in fair weather.

The Monoposto 147 can be fitted with either 1,000hp or 1,200hp diesel engines offering a range of 3,000 or 5,000 nautical miles respectively.
