Construction has begun to renovate the Bahamas’ Hurricane Hole Marina, with works scheduled for completion in 2021.

Located on Paradise Island, Hurricane Hole Superyacht Marina at Paradise Landing has welcomed some of the most impressive yachts cruising in the Caribbean. The Bahamian landmark will now be transformed with the introduction of new luxury residences and retail services, as well as updated amenities for owners, guests and crew.

Sterling Global Financial is overseeing the project. David Kosoy, executive chairman and founder of Sterling Global Financial said: “With great respect for Hurricane Hole’s place in the rich history of Paradise Island, and The Bahamas, we are committed to restoring this famous marina into a premier yachting destination, and a place for the community to enjoy.

“This will be a new dimension in yachting in The Bahamas, and luxury living on Paradise Island."

After the renovations are complete, the restored marina will boast nearly 2,000 linear metres of deep-water concrete docks and slips measuring up to 128 metres. For superyachts stopping by, the development architects have designed marina sea walls ensured to reduce wake and wave action in any weather.

Renovations are expected to be completed in 2021.

The five-star marina will also be equipped with 400-amp, 480-volt power, fuel and pump-out service, laundry, shower, and dressing room facilities for crew as well as a grocery store and provisioning services. Visitors to the refreshed Hurricane Hole Superyacht Marina will have access to 24-hour security and on-site customs and immigration services, as well as a medical clinic and pharmacy.

They will also be able to enjoy waterfront restaurants and bars alongside a luxury day spa and full-service gym. The world-renowned Atlantis Resort is also just a few steps away.

Bahamaian Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis visited the site in December.

For those hoping to make Paradise Island a more permanent base, the marina will offer new luxury real-estate opportunities. The Residences at Paradise Landing will feature two and three-bedroom layouts with contemporary design and marina views. Residence owners will also receive membership at the 18-hole Ocean Club Golf Course and the Beach Club on Cabbage Beach.
