Mulder designs fast 60m concept superyacht

25 September 2011

The latest concept from Mulder Design is a fast, bright 60m superyacht that pushes the boundaries of construction.

‘We wanted to do something different but feasible,’ says the designer Bas Mulder. ‘We wanted to create an extreme, but still workable boat.’

Indeed the concept, a semi-displacement superyacht designed to reach 27 to 28 knots, incorporates an impressive number of windows.

‘We’ve put a lot of glass in the hull, which is an engineering challenge to still have strength,’ says Mulder. ‘Bit we have enough volume in our hull to bring strength to the design.

The design also features lots of outdoor spaces and a swimming pool. It has classic forward facing windows, reflecting the fact that this is a fast boat, rather than one intended to sit in harbour.

Mulder estimates the yacht would sleep 12 people.
