Custom Line launches 50m flagship superyacht Asante

Custom Line has launched its flagship superyacht Asante from Ferretti Group's facilities in Ancona, Italy. The ceremony was attended by the owner's family and the shipyard's management and employees.

The 49.9-metre is the first Custom Line superyacht to be built entirely in aluminium, offering a reduction in fuel consumption of about 10 to 15 per cent compared to a 50-metre boat of the same size and volume.

The launch "marks a new chapter" for Custom Line: since its inception in 1996, the Ancona-based yard has traditionally built in fibreglass.

For the engineering, Custom Line has turned to the Strategic Product Department led by Mr. Piero Ferrari and the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard Engineering Unit. The yacht’s exterior has been penned by Filippo Salvetti, while Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel has been chosen for the yacht’s interior styling after the commercial success of the Navetta 30.

One of the interior finishes available on board the Navetta 50 includes a sustainable Alpi Lignum walnut panelling finish, which complies with the strictest international standards due to its formaldehyde-free formulation and eco-conscious production process. Elsewhere, Foglizzo natural hides and leathers are made from 100% recycled materials, demonstrating the yacht's eco focus.

"In the Navetta 50, we used different languages depending on whether you are in the hull, or in the superstructure, i.e. above [or below] the main deck," explained Patricia Viel, partner at Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel.

One of the yacht’s highlights is an upper-deck master suite that offers panoramic views and a direct connection to a private terrace on the bow complete with a solarium. Elsewhere, the beach club at the water’s edge is attached to the aft outdoor area on the main deck, which is fitted out as a private lounge. These two exterior spaces are connected by the rectangular pool in the stern.

A harmony between indoor and outdoor spaces is evident across the Navetta 50

Alongside the aft deck pool, the yacht also volunteers a spacious sundeck which can be fitted with a Jacuzzi. Here, guests will also find a shaded lounge area, American-style bar and dining area.

Connecting interior and exterior spaces is a key cornerstone of the yacht’s design language. Extensive use of floor-to-ceiling glass and reflective surfaces are evident across the yacht, creating a sense of “being on an island surrounded by water”, according to Custom Line.

The yacht will have accommodation for ten

Meanwhile, the guest cabins on the lower deck feature elements which are “integrated into the hull design” to allow the full beam of the yacht to be appreciated. “In the saloons on the upper decks the bulwarks are lightened, the contained volumes move back from the perimeter to make room for the windows, letting in as much light and sea as possible,” said Viel.

Accommodation is for a total of 10 guests in five cabins, with four guest suites on the lower deck and an additional cabin forming the upper-deck owner’s suite. There is further accommodation on board for nine crew members, including a captain’s cabin.

Alongside the yacht's eco fuel-consumption credentials, the first hull in the series will  also be SCR ready (Selective Catalytic Reduction), meaning that nitrogen oxide levels can be brought down to near-zero levels.

At shipyard level, Ferretti Group's Superyacht Yard in Ancona has a tri-generation plant producing electric, heat and cooling power, which reduces the consumption of electricity by up to 79 per cent and heat energy by 32 per cent with annual primary energy savings of 20 per cent.

Filippo Salvetti is responsible for the yacht's exterior styling

"A 50-metre dream. This is the new Custom Line 50, confirming the brand’s state of grace at both design and production level. Cutting-edge research and innovation, in terms of both style and materials, comes together in the use of aluminium, which also offers significant performance and fuel consumption benefits," said Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi. "The new flagship, which opens up a new market segment for Custom line, is a vessel bathed in light and water born out of extraordinarily in-depth and effective studies into the yacht’s volumes and spaces."

According to BOATPro, Custom Line has 11 yachts in build or actively on order.

Asante will make her global debut at this year's Monaco Yacht Show.
