Delta has revealed details of its new 40-metre motor yacht ONIKA (hull 130043), boasting a new high-efficiency hull design.
Destined for repeat Delta owners, superyacht ONIKA's design and engineering package was put together by Delta Design Group. Their first challenge was to design a hull for shallow draft, but with the same seaworthiness and capabilities as a full-displacement design. 'The new Delta hull design combines the best in long range passage making capability and fuel efficiency along with moderate draft to allow the owner access to the shallower water destinations that otherwise might not be accessible,' says Delta’s Chief Naval Architect, Jay Miner.
Accommodation of the tri-deck motor yacht comprises three very generous cabins for six guests, and crew quarters for eight staff members.
Powered by twin Caterpillar C32 main engines, ONIKA has a 4,000 nautical mile range at 12 knots and a maximum speed of 16 knots. Quantum Zero Speed stabilizers ensure a nice gentle ride both at anchor and underway. Also included is an hydraulically activated fold-down mast, which is custom built and designed by Delta.
