Italian yard Ocean King has unveiled a new 26.8 metre concept in its Ducale series of explorer yachts. The Ducale 88 features exterior and interior design by Arch Paolo Dose of the Venice-based VYD Studio and naval architecture by Studio Innave.

The yard said the model will offer “megayacht finishes and styling” while offering “a more practical at-sea solution” inspired by the “commercial shipping field.”

The Ducale 88 will feature an interior volume of 218 GT

The concept includes a full-displacement bulbous bow, steel hull and aluminium superstructure. It offers “style, volume, safety and comfort at sea” as “key characteristics”, the yard said.

It will feature an interior volume of 218 GT, a 160 square metre deck area and 185 square metre inside living area. Accommodation will be for 10 guests across five cabins while a staff of four can be accommodated in two cabins.

“This yacht offers a lot of space,” Dose said. “It can offer superyacht accommodation levels without the owners and guests having to live on top of each other.”

The Ducale 88 will powered by a pair of MAN D2868 LE421 441kW engines for a top speed of 11.5 knots and cruising speed of 10 knots.

Ocean King’s Alberto Ballarin added, “The Ducale 88 is a logical addition to Ocean King’s Ducale series. In this competitive sector of the market, practicality, interior volume, superyacht quality, and comfort at sea are what we believe the customers want.”

It comes after the builder unveiled a new Ocean King model in its Classic series of explorer yachts last month.
