Sailing yacht Coral of Cowes for sale with Nicolle Associates and Berthon

25 July 2012

A phone call to Adrian Nicolle at Nicolle Associates brings news of his new joint central listing with Sue Grant of Berthon, the 29.4m gaff schooner Coral of Cowes.

Designed by renowned British yacht designer Fred Shepherd of Lory and Cornwallis, and built by White Brothers in Southampton in 1902, Coral of Cowes has a fascinating and successful racing history – including winning the Kings Cup in 1926 and 1928.

She was rebuilt in Cape Town in 2005 and all the recommendations from a May 2011 survey were carried out during a refit in Grenada and Antigua, completed early this year.

She accommodates 12 guests, three crewmembers and cabins include an en suite double owner’s cabin forward.

The main and foremast are of lightweight construction with new masthead steelwork and spreaders. The running rigging is in good order and the runner system was recently upgraded with Harken blocks and Spectra lines. Her Volvo Penta engine offers 170hp.

Coral of Cowes is asking £999,000.
