Italian builder Sanlorenzo has delivered a 27 metre SX88 motor yacht to its owner in Asia.
Currently cruising the Italian Riviera, the SX88 will arrive in Singapore later this year. This yacht is the first in the series delivered to Asia and was sold by Simpson Marine.
Designed with the younger generation in mind, Sanlorenzo describes the SX as a "social yacht" that better connects owners and guests with the surrounding sea thanks to wide open spaces and large glass windows throughout.
Sanlorenzo's in-house design team are responsible for the interiors. Inspired by the Greek Islands, the yacht features white washed wood and oak flooring finished with accents of blue and cream. Accommodation is for up to eight guests in a main deck master cabin, a double and two twin cabins below.
The only steering position sits on the flybridge, protected by a windshield with side windows and glass panels. The decision to forego a wheelhouse allows more room forward on the main deck for an owners' cabin or an extension of the main saloon. Doors open fully from the main deck to the aft cockpit to create one large indoor/outdoor space.
The beach club is able to accommodate a 4.5 metre tender, a Jetski, Seabob, Jetlev Flyer, wakeboard and paddleboard. A crane is hidden in the profile of the handrail. With the watercrafts deployed, the stern area offers 30 square metres of space to relax or entertain.
Power comes from triple Volvo 800hp IPS diesel engines allow a cruising speed of 20 knots, topping out at 23 knots.
The SX88 crossover motor yacht was first unveiled at the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2017. The design finds the middle ground between classic flybridge motor yachts and the increasingly popular ocean-going explorer class.
Upon arriving in Singapore, the SX88 is expected to cruise around Southeast Asia before her official premiere in Asia at the Singapore Yacht Show 2020.
