Polish catamaran specialist Sunreef Yachts has launched the third hull in its 80 Sunreef Power Eco series. Dubbed “the world’s most advanced electric motor yacht,” hull number three hit the water at its shipyard in Gdansk.
Using the latest green technology, the 23.8-metre vessel model is equipped with two electric 180kW engines for silent cruising and has a 440kWh ultralight battery bank, which Sunreef claims is 30 per cent lighter than the average batteries used in the nautical industry.
The yacht also uses Sunreef Yachts’ “revolutionary” solar power system, with solar cells built into the composite bodywork for greater energy efficiency.
Accommodation on the “eco-cat” is for eight guests across a four-cabin layout. Throughout the interiors, Sunreef have employed a smart energy management system, DC-powered air-conditioning and eco-minded décor, including furniture made from flax fibre.
On deck, noteworthy features include a jacuzzi on the bow terrace, an invisible aft garage and an outdoor gym area. The Sunreef 80 Eco also has a water making and purifying system installed, able to generate drinking water.
The model will be officially premiering at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2023.
According to BOAT Pro, Sunreef Yachts has three catamarans currently under construction, including two units from the Sunreef 100 Power series.
