Voodoo Yachts unveils first details of flagship catamaran model

1 December 2025 • Written by Emily Dawkins

New Zealand yard Voodoo Yachts has unveiled the first details of a new, hydrofoil-assisted catamaran model known as the XF450. At 36.3 metres, the yacht will become the flagship offering from the builder, who claimed it to be "the largest and most advanced yacht the company has ever designed".

The XF450 builds upon the yard's "record-setting" hydrofoil catamaran platform, now blending high speeds and efficiency with explorer capabilities in response to growing demand for adventure-driven power catamarans.

A generous 10.5-metre beam and a light volume of 450GT characterise the model, which is expected to cruise at 30 knots with an "unmatched" range and low environmental impact.

Two configurations are offered for the semi-custom design: the open flybridge or the enclosed flybridge. However, remaining core to both alternatives is the beach club, which the yard describes as "unlike anything in its class".

The space makes use of the yacht's wide full beam and opens on three sides, designed to blur the boundary between the inside and the out. It is arranged in two spaces: a lounge with a bar, and a versatile wellness studio that can be configured for fitness, yoga, massage, or spa experiences. There is also direct access to a sauna or hammam, cold plunge, shower and dayhead, with an expansive aft deck extending the space further for toys and tender ease.

There is also capacity on board for an optional helipad with refueling capabilities

American yacht designer Christian Oliver Design is responsible for the interior styling, which is said to prioritise a sophisticated yet active life on the water. Materials and forms are tactile and enduring while remaining "effortlessly elegant", decorated in light woods, neutral fabrics, woven textiles and sculpted surfaces.

What steals the show on board is the dramatic light well-cum-living tower, which rises through the model's three decks (from beach club to upper deck bar), flowing with greenery. A hand-carved dark wood panel and a stone bar that grows out of the wall complete the wow-factor.

There is a five-cabin layout, including a full-beam owner’s suite with 180-degree views, in addition to up to eight further berths to accommodate crew. Multiple lounges and dining areas have been curated for "different moods for each moment of the day" - including the main saloon, which is laid in continuous teak from the aft deck and features fold-down balconies on both sides. Discreet details include mirrored storage for fitness and wellness gear.

“The XF450 represents the evolution of what we believe in and have pioneered - using advanced technology and innovative design to blend features and capabilities that traditionally compete. And in doing so, unlocking the oceans to a greater level than ever before," said a spokesperson from the yard.

Voodoo Yachts celebrated the launch of  the first unit in its high-speed XF75 expedition foiler series earlier this year.
