Italian shipyard Sanlorenzo and its subsidiary Bluegame have signed a €91.5 million Development Agreement with the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT), Invitalia and Regione Toscana, which will be implemented across the Group's four main shipyards in Tuscany and Liguria.
The programme focuses on the adoption of green fuels and materials for future Sanlorenzo products, the digitalisation of services and processes and a planned increase in production capacity. It will also require the direct hiring of 200 additional workers by 2026 and the redevelopment of existing production spaces in line with modern practices.
"The Agreement marks an important milestone in our vision for the sustainable development of luxury yachting and the broader ecosystem in which we operate," said Sanlorenzo chairman and CEO Massimo Perotti. "We are pleased to collaborate with governmental institutions to bolster Sanlorenzo’s role as ambassador of Made in Italy excellence and competitiveness in the world."
The announcement comes shortly after an order was signed for the first unit in Sanlorenzo's new 60-metre-plus series, the 1150EXP. Commissioned by an experienced Greek owner, the project will become Sanlorenzo's largest explorer yacht delivered from the yard to date.
