US-based and looking for a staycation spot? Read our review of The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables to discover why this hotel has one of the best spas in Miami...

Where is The Biltmore Hotel Spa?

Oozing Gatsbyesque charm, this architectural beauty dating from 1926 may be only a few miles from the body-thumping beats of South Beach in Miami, but it is firmly rooted in a different era. Sitting on the seventh floor of the Biltmore, the bright, airy spa overlooks the Mediterranean-style houses and lush gardens that surround this Coral Gables hotel.

What's it like?

With finches chirping in the lobby, a high tea served daily to the sound of a harpist and a gigantic pool (with more than two million litres of clear blue water) it’s easy fall under the spell of the Biltmore’s recently renovated splendour. A custom floral fragrance, flute music and hushed voices greet guests upon arrival at the spa, and all treatments begin with a Buddhist-inspired ritual to set your intention and the presentation of a dorje (a symbol of the religion).

What are the best spa treatments at the Biltmore hotel?

If you want to get reacquainted with your inner mermaid opt for the 90-minute Voyage of the Sea treatment. It starts with a scrub of Voya seaweed powder mixed with scented oil, followed by a 20-minute soak in a tub filled with Atlantic seaweed. Some of the leaves are then wrapped around your limbs to nourish and detoxify skin. The final step is a hydrating massage with a seaweed-based lotion. By then you can expect to be aglow, relaxed and a little thirsty, which makes the chilled fruit-flavoured water readily available throughout the spa especially delicious.
