The Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta & Rendezvous brings together sail and motor yachts for a four-day event organised by Boat International Media and the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS).

Based at the YCCS in the stunning North Sound of Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands (BVI’s), the Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta & Rendezvous has been growing since its inception in 2011.

Competitors can expect some tight racing at the Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta & Rendezvous, thanks to the strong breezes found in this part of the Caribbean.

Cruising superyachts share the same racecourse with brand new performance orientated racing yachts at the Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta & Rendezvous. Variations in age, type, size and shape make creating a fair handicapping system a challenging task.

For 2015 the Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta & Rendezvous organisers changed the rules, opting to use the new ORC Superyacht rule to create a fairer and more competitive event. This system has also been adopted by the Bucket Regattas and the Superyacht Cup Palma.

A building breeze from the east brought superb conditions for large boat racing and after a thrilling final race  _P2, a _38m Perini Navi, snuck in for victory to take Class A. She also won the 2015 Loro Piana Prize: the Boat International Media Trophy.

Endeavour and Ranger, well known J Class yachts, have both taken part in the Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta & Rendezvous. Past winners include 45m Salperton IV, 30.5m Wally Indio and 42.1 metre J Class Hanuman.

For 2016, Westport and Boat International Media are delighted to announce the first edition of the Westport Rendezvous, held during the Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta & Rendezvous.

In the evenings all superyacht owners are invited to join a variety of glamorous parties and dinners, organised as part of the Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta & Rendezvous social programme. Mooring up at the Yacht Club, owners and guests are perfectly situated to enjoy the evening entertainment.

The crews and owners go away with some memorable experiences of the Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta & Rendezvous, but everyone involved looks forward to returning to the azure waters of Virgin Gorda for more competitive racing.
