The Young Designer of the Year Award, in partnership with Feadship, celebrates the original concepts of student and trainee designers from around the globe. This highly regarded award tasks young designers with a realistic client request to challenge their ideas, technical ability and aptitude for delivery. The brief is set to provide valuable and authentic insight into the reality of working as a designer within the superyacht industry.
The task
This year, students are asked to imagine themselves as a junior designer working for De Voogt Naval Architects.

The Young Designer of the Year Award 2024 is open to designers who will be 28 years old or younger on the 1st January 2024 and entrants must not have been employed for financial gain in a yacht design studio. The Young Designer of the Year is judged by a panel consisting of internationally known yacht designers, and this year, entrants will be reviewed by representatives from the likes of Winch Design, Tim Heywood Designs and Reymond Langton Design.
