The sixth edition of the biennial charity auction Only Watch will return in November having found a new home in Geneva, Switzerland. Organised by Association Monégasque contre les Myopathies, the Monaco Yacht Show, Phillips auction house and Bacs & Russo, the show will also embark on a world tour in the run up to the auction.
This year, 44 exceptional timepieces from 43 world renowned fine watchmakers will be displayed and auctioned in aid of continued research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy and other debilitating neuromuscular diseases.
To raise awareness and allow international bidders to see the watches firsthand, Only Watch will embark on a world tour exhibition in the months prior to the auction. This will begin at the Monaco Yacht Show from September 23 to 26 before moving to Hong Kong, Beijing, New York, London and finally Geneva.
Highlights from the men’s section of the auction include an unusual Bell & Ross skull bronze tourbillon, which resembles a pirate's shipwreck treasure, an exclusive Chronoswiss Ouroboros featuring a white gold dial with an ornate serpent engraving and a Dewitt Academia Out of Time created specifically for the auction.
Female bidders may find themselves taken with a one-off Chanel Mademoiselle Privé Camellia Garden timepiece created with pearls, silk, white gold and diamonds or the overtly feminine and previously unreleased Amadeo Fleurier Lady Bovet with its diamond bezel, purple alligator strap and unique reversible complication.
However, the star of the show in terms of innovative design is undoubtedly Hermes’ In The Pocket watch. With a classic black dial and rose-gold case, this timepiece can transform with ease from brown calfskin wristwatch to pocket watch (or bag charm).
With a whole host of technical, fine jewellery and simply stunning timepieces on offer – many of which have been designed specifically for or are available only through Only Watch – this is a brilliant opportunity to own a true one-of-a-kind piece while raising money for a worthy cause.
The Only Watch 2015 auction takes place on 7 November 2015 at La Reserve, Geneva. Visit onlywatch.com for more information.
