The Cannes Film Festival: 14-25 May

As always, the summer season in the South of France kicks off at Cannes, where much anticipated films from the likes of Francis Ford Coppola and David Cronenberg will première. Not to be missed is the AmfAR Gala on the 23rd, with a live auction by Simon de Pury, a fashion show curated by Carine Roitfeld and an appearance by Cher.

The French Open, Paris: 20 May-9 June

Tennis greats and younger upstarts will take to the courts at the Stade Roland-Garros, getting ahead of the sporting action taking place across France a little later this summer. The tickets to go for? The Loge Prestige, with box seats behind the players’ bench, gourmet catering and a valet service.

After Cannes, head west along the coast to Monte-Carlo and into Port Hercule for the 81st Monaco Grand Prix. Book your berth early for the best on deck views of the action.

Poetry of Time by Van Cleef & Arpels, London: 26 May-9 June

This unique retrospective is to be held at Cromwell Place for two weeks. Demonstrating the history of the maison’s watchmaking, it will showcase a selection of one-of-a-kind pieces, with diverse inspirations, including astronomy, nature, fairies, ballerinas, couture and love stories. Guests can
get involved with a range of interactive displays and live demonstrations carried out by master artisans from workshops in Geneva.

Looking for interiors inspiration? This annual event showcases 19 rooms and outdoor spaces, all decorated by some of the world’s biggest name designers. Among this year’s contributors are Benedict Foley, Alidad, Ken Fulk, Katharine Pooley and Sophie Ashby.
