In a break from tradition, Florentine watchmaker Panerai has produced its most feminine design yet with the Luminor Due Madreperla (PAM01280). Sporting smaller measurements and finer features, the novelty model represents the brand’s first ladies’ watch.
A departure from Panerai’s signature form is instantly noticeable from the petite proportions; with a 38mm diameter, the Luminor Due Madreperla is the smallest watch yet to be produced by the brand and is designed to appeal to a new demographic of buyers.
The Luminor Due Madreperla also incorporates unprecedented materials in its distinctly delicate composition. As hinted in the name, the watch face – which features a seconds clock and date window – is made from iridescent white mother of pearl for a lustrous and elegant aesthetic.
This is complimented by a rose-tinted colour scheme picked up elsewhere in the timepiece, with a blush-pink gold case, indices and watch hands.
The vibrancy of the model’s colouring is created by using Goldtech, a precious gold alloy with a composition made up of a significant 24% of copper and 0.4% platinum. In addition to producing the unique tone, the metal offers heightened resistance to oxidation.
An alligator leather strap in a shiny, ruby-red shade with tone-on-tone stitching completes the timepiece for an eye-catching look. At the Panerai boutique, customers have the choice of alternative straps in a variety of hues and materials to suit any occasion from formal to casual.
A perfect accessory for bringing on board, the automatic timepiece is water resistant up to 30 metres with a power reserve of up to three days and indices coated in Panerai’s signature SuperLumiNova luminescence.
Upon purchase, the watch is presented in a box of precious pear wood to preserve this avant-garde model in perfect condition for future generations.
