Technogym – the fitness equipment brand favoured by designers of superyacht gyms – has developed a new ultra-connected gym bike that allows riders to cycle the world’s most incredible ascents straight from their superyacht.
Named the Technogym Ride, this new gadget is the first indoor bike to offer a complete connection with cyclists’ favourite apps through an immersive 22-inch touchscreen console.
From following the hairpin turns of the Tour de France route along the Alpe d'Huez to biking the raw, scenic tracks of the Icelandic highlands or the Dolomites, Technogym Ride is designed to simulate the outdoor cycling experience and replicate, with exacting precision, real-world cycle paths and inclines.
Users can login with one simple step and be connected with their favourite training apps such as Zwift, TrainingPeaks, ROUVY, Strava, Bkool and Kinomap, or entertainment apps including Netflix, YouTube and Eurosport to help focus and motivate during on board training sessions. Many of these apps use cycle paths from around the globe that will come to life on the bike’s interactive console, wherever you are anchored at the time of your session.
The bike’s software also comes with a complete range of training programs and experiences designed to employ various gears and power zones. These training options are inspired by the world’s most legendary hills and valleys, designed to improve the user’s cycling performance in the great outdoors while floating at sea.
Alternatively, the bike also offers exclusive Technogym neuromuscular exercise programs developed by the brand’s in-house research team to enhance metabolic and neuromuscular training.
Other features that improve the cycling experience with the Technogym Ride include a real gearbox for a more lifelike feel, a fast reaction time of just 0 to 1000 watts in half a second, adjustable pedal cranks and “fast buttons” which allow users to smoothly swap from various power modes during training. Gradient shifts and resistance levels are controlled from the console.
