Fitness afloat: The 10 yachts that make working out on the water worth it

20 February 2026 • Written by Gemma Harris

Gyms on board yachts are no longer about a token set of weights or a dusty yoga mat in the corner. Today, they rightfully take up space with thoughtful design and premium amenities. With owners and guests prioritising health and wellness more than ever, gyms - typically paired with a spa and many taking up a whole wellness deck - are now the norm. For waterside workouts that make fitness regimes at sea easy, discover the best gyms on board…

Sparta

Located on the lower deck and occupying a full midships beam, Heesen's 67-metre Sparta features an open-plan gym and a Turkish-inspired spa area spanning an impressive 65 square metres. Delivered in 2025, this is one of the largest gym and spa layouts seen on a yacht of this size and truly levels up working out on board. Standout touches include the Gym Marine equipment customised with the yacht's logo by Winch Design, the British studio which was also responsible for penning Sparta's interiors and exteriors. After workouts, guests can soak in the Jacuzzi and massage area to soothe tired muscles. Keeping with the wellness theme, the interior of each deck is themed around elements of the earth, water and air.

Nero

Turning heads with her clipper bow, black hull and iconic yellow funnel, 90-metre Nero from Corsair Yachts has plenty of standout onboard features, including fitness amenities. Following a refit in 2021, interior designer Laura Pomponi and her team at Luxury Projects stepped on board Nero to help enhance wellness for charter clients. The former snug of the modern classic yacht was replaced with her top-deck gym, taking full advantage of the panoramic views and high ceilings to create a great space for indoor and outdoor training. The gym is outfitted with Technogym machines, including a Kinesis, treadmill, cross trainer and exercise bike, while a Jacuzzi and massage area are excellent for afterwards.

The lower deck proves movement doesn’t have to stop while on board, with a fully equipped gym, sauna and massage area, which sit along a 60-metre corridor that connects directly to five guest cabins.
