The second-hand superyacht market's looking decidedly crowded as I hear that Jonathan Syrett in the Palma office of Camper & Nicholsons has signed the 33.4m classic sailing yacht Southern Cross for sale.
Built by Yarrow & Company in 1962, she's Bermuda rigged. Southern Cross was the biggest steel auxiliary ketch built in Scotland for many years and was awarded the Lloyd's Register "Yacht of the Year" Trophy for the best design and construction in 1962 amongst 86 competing yachts. Accommodating 10 guests in five double cabins with en suite bathrooms and five crew in three cabins, she has earned her reputation as a popular, extremely comfortable and relaxing charter superyacht. She is well equipped, caringly maintained, and regularly serviced with VAT & Spanish Matriculation Tax paid and commercially registered under the Spanish flag, asking €2.675 million.
