Cantiere delle Marche's award-winning 43.1-metre custom explorer yacht Acala has been listed for sale under a joint central agency with Luke Brennan of Cecil Wright and Franco Ambrosi of Zarpo Yachts.
Acala took home the trophy at the 2023 World Superyacht Awards in the category of "Displacement Motor Yachts 499GT and below, 40m to 44.9m", praised for her "rugged good looks, excellent crew areas, a superb diving store and her elegant and modern interior", a year after her 2022 delivery.
Italian studio Horacio Bozzo Design penned her exterior, while Hydro Tec was responsible for the naval architecture and Mexican designer, Simon Hamui, for the interiors.
Nicknamed the "modest explorer yacht", Acala was custom-built for an experienced owner who sought a more comfortable platform from their previous (and smaller) Darwin 102 vessel of the same name, to visit and dive in the remote islands of the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, while using their extensive knowledge to customise it to their exact needs.
As such, features on board the steel and aluminium explorer include a beach club dive store – illuminated by the glass bottom of the aft deck pool – and an "expedition-worthy" range of 5,000 nautical miles at 10 knots.

Acala's interior design is calm and muted, characterised by a variety of natural woods, including aged ash and wire-brushed oak in the living areas, with Eucalyptus in the master suite and grey Sucupira wood in guest cabins. Furniture pieces – most of which are custom-built in Mexico or Italy – are upholstered in plush fabrics such as cashmere, while the rugs are hand-woven alpaca and there are leather accents throughout.
Living spaces include a relaxed main saloon with a large sofa and entertainment centre and a panoramic sky lounge on the upper deck which offers more formal seating forward, in addition to a large dining table aft. Full-height glass doors open onto a circular lounge space outside, resulting in a single indoor-outdoor entertaining area.
Notably, the accommodation and living areas on board benefit from generous windows which offer both bounds of light inside and expansive views outside.
Up top, the sundeck is partially shaded, equipped with a second pool, dining area and multiple sunpads and lounge chairs. The main deck aft also offers sunpads and another, more casual, dining table.
The 440GT yacht for sale offers a top speed of 15.3 knots, powered by twin Caterpillar C32 Acer engines. She has a beam of 8.6 metres.
Acala is asking €29,995,000, currently located in Bodrum, Turkey.
