Classic sailing yacht Doriana now for sale with bluewater

The classic 38 metre sailing yacht Doriana has changed central agencies and is now listed for sale by Jim Acher at bluewater.

Built in teak by Denmark's Frederikssund yard with delivery in 1930, she was privately owned until, as is often the case with these classics, she fell into disrepair. She was rescued and almost entirely rebuilt in 2003/2004 at Germany's Navcon shipyard to DNV class with a reconstruction of her interior design by British naval architect Donald Starkey. All the oak frames were checked and mostly replaced. Further, everything technical was removed, scrapped and replaced, including the engine, generators, electrical equipment and all plumbing and wiring.

Her new superstructure in quarter-sawn teak consists of a charthouse, cockpit and skylights and five guest cabins for 10 guests were built and installed during the rebuild. In addition, there are quarters for seven crew aboard this yacht for sale. The interior is now in high gloss mahogany and has a large saloon with a corner bar and a library and here's a nice extra - at the touch of a button the library converts into a double en suite cabin. Under power, a 318hp Scania diesel engine gives her a cruising speed of 9 knots

Lying in San Remo, Italy, Doriana is asking €2,950,000.
