70m explorer yacht Olivia sold

15 February 2021 • Written by Malcolm MacLean

The 70 metre motor yacht Olivia, listed for sale by Burgess, has been sold with the buyer introduced by Stuart Larsen at Fraser.

Olivia was originally built in steel as a hydrographical survey vessel for the Russian Navy and delivered in 1972. Olivia was then converted into an explorer yacht in 2011 by Finnish yard Laivateollisuus with exterior styling by Rouvia Road and interior design by Droulers Architecture.

The conversion means that she now has all the toys and technology needed to rival the modern superyacht, including the latest navigational equipment, stabilisers, jet skis and a 12-person spa pool. Accommodation is for 10 guests in five cabins comprising an owner's suite with a private office and four further guest double cabins, all with full en suite bathroom facilities. Crew quarters sleep 26 staff aboard this yacht for sale.

In the guest areas, she has a contemporary, calm theme. Hardwood wall panelling, neutral fabrics and minimalist furniture emphasise the pops of vibrant colour from the current owner's art collection.

Outside, she has acres of versatile space for relaxation and entertainment. Long, wide side decks and shaded areas with clean-lined furniture create al fresco spaces of varying formality and intimacy.

With her ice-classed hull, phenomenal range of 15,000 nautical miles and every conceivable luxury amenity, she is ideally suited to long-distance, autonomous cruising anywhere in the world. Her single Deutz 2,000hp diesel engine gives her a top speed of 15 knots and she will cruise comfortably at 12 knots. Fully retractable Rolls-Royce stabilisers keep her guests safe and sound both underway and at anchor.

Olivia was asking €17,500,000.
