Jongert sailing yacht Southwind of for sale

The 41.6 metre sailing yacht intriguingly named Southwind of has been listed for sale by James McMaster at McMaster Yachts in Palma.

Built in steel and aluminium by Dutch yard Jongert to a design by Tony Castro and Lloyds classed, Southwind of was delivered in 1999 as one of the yard’s 42T series. An interior by Peter Sijm has elegant wood joinery in mahogany throughout and sleeps eight guests in four cabins consisting of a master with an office area, a double and two twins, all with en suite shower facilities. There are also quarters for five crew.

Interior areas are spacious and include a main saloon with a dining area to port, a comfortable seating area to starboard and an entertainment system including a 48 inch LG LCD television screen. Forward of the saloon is a professionally equipped galley leading to the crew quarters. The large cockpit can accommodate as many as 12 guests to enjoy a day’s sailing or indulge in al fresco cocktails and meals.

A feature of this yacht for sale is the swim platform on the stern. Hydraulically operated, it can easily convert from a flat surface into a stairway, offering safe and easy access to the water.

Southwind of comes with Nirvana aluminium masts, Marten carbon booms and she received a new sail wardrobe in 2015. Under power, a 534hp MTU engine gives her a cruising speed of 10 knots and a range of approximately 2,500 miles.

Carefully maintained and in immaculate condition, Southwind of is asking €6.5 million with VAT paid.
