The 50 most expensive yachts for sale now

How much does a superyacht cost? The answer is not so simple. Much like a luxury watch or car, the asking price depends on a variety of factors such as age, pedigree and finish, with the largest and newest vessels peaking into the hundreds of millions. To give you a better idea, BOAT International rounds up the 50 most expensive yachts currently listed for sale, starting with Lady Lara...

The upper deck sports a fresh water pool with counter current and the yacht also has a gymnasium with floor-to-ceiling windows. Predator

Asking €69,000,000 with SuperYachtsMonaco

Builder: Feadship
Length: 72.8m
Designers: Feadship De Voogt, Bannenberg & Rowell

One for the history books, Predator is not only the first Feadship to be delivered with a reverse bow but broke several other records at the time of her launch in 2008, leading to a World Superyacht Award in 2009. At the time, she was one of the quietest Feadships ever built – despite her four-engine propulsion package – and had the tallest engine room of any Feadship and the longest uninterrupted interior views of any yacht in her class. The superyacht also comes with two custom "mini Predator" style tenders and a helipad. Predator has had only two owners since new and benefitted from an interior refit in 2016 that saw her guest accommodation refreshed.

Calypso

Asking €40,000,000 with Y.CO

Builder: Amels
Length: 61.5m
Designers: Michael Leach Design

Calypso stands out thanks to her voluminous, "lavish" interiors, including a spectacular two-level master suite at main deck level. Stretching to the yacht's full beam, this suite is described as a "sanctuary" and sports an overhead skylight. Leach rarely holds back on ceiling heights and Calypso's is 4.2 metres high here. Meanwhile, the sundeck is split into three sections: a lounge seating and Jacuzzi area; an enclosed, air-conditioned gym; an open space designed for sunbathing or al fresco workouts, which also has an outdoor cinema set-up.

Asking €35,800,000 with Burgess and Merle Wood & Associates

Builder: Benetti
Length: 65m
Designers: Espen Oeino International, Stefano Natucci, Francois Zuretti

The tour de force onboard Ambrosia is her "Stargate Room" on the upper deck, which features a special lunar theme while functioning as both an informal dining room and a cocktail lounge. Constellations of the night stars in both the northern and southern hemispheres adorn the room's ceiling. Powered by electric motors linked to the yacht's GPS, this decoration changes in relation to where Ambrosia happens to be on the world's oceans. Ambrosia's Art Deco-inspired interior can accommodate 12 guests in six cabins.
