by Malcolm Maclean
The new-build 37 metre motor yacht named DOM 123 has been sold with the buyer introduced by Camper & Nicholsons International.
Currently under construction in aluminium by Italian yard Cantieri Navali Cerri to a design by Studio Vafiadis, DOM 123 is scheduled for delivery to her new owner in 2020 and is the first of a new line of boats inspired by the Latin word "domus", meaning home. It is designed to appeal to the lifestyle of a modern, young yacht owner, providing equal measures of homely comfort and Italian style.
With a beam of 8.7 metres, the DOM 123 will provide bountiful living spaces, including a main deck saloon and dining room for 10. The skylounge above can easily transform into a cinema, and a large, sliding glass door will connect this area with fresh air, panoramic views and al fresco seating for 10-12 guests at a round table.
Exterior living spaces are designed to suit the home-style brief, creating living areas ideal for both entertaining and relaxing. The large sundeck, accessed by a central staircase, will have a modern, square-shaped spa tub. Twin 1,939hp Caterpillar diesel engines will enable a cruising speed of 12 knots topping out at 19 knots and she will be fitted with zero speed stabilisers.
The DOM 123 was asking €16,300,000.
