A new 47.2 metre Sanlorenzo 500EXP motor yacht has been sold to a Greek client with the buyer introduced by Dimitris Kyriazakos of Ekka Yachts.
Designed by Francesco Paszkowski, she is to be built in steel by Italian yard Sanlorenzo with delivery in June 2023 as the tenth hull in this series. Called the 500EXP in reference to her gross tonnage of 500GT, the explorer is able to carry tenders, boats and sail boats measuring up to nine metres in length, or even a seaplane or submarine. Its extended stern platform can be customised to include a helicopter landing pad.
Accommodation will be provided for 14 guests in six luxurious en-suite staterooms, with crew accommodation for nine members of staff in 5 cabins. The main deck is the heart of the yacht and features a guest lobby, with a striking stylised staircase that connects the main decks, and a large main saloon with a large formal dining table and lounge seating. The main saloon leads seamlessly out to the aft cockpit which connects with the extensive quarter deck.
The explorer features a lower deck beach-club with a bar which converts into a terrace overlooking the sea via a foldout door. A compartment on the main deck also houses a five-tonne crane, which can be used to move toys and tenders sitting on the stern.
Twin 970hp Caterpillar diesel engines will enable a cruising speed of 13 knots topping out at 15 knots and a range of up to 4,000 nautical miles.
