Ocean Alexander has announced the sale of a 28E explorer yacht to a seasoned yachting couple, marking their second luxury yacht and their first Ocean Alexander. The transaction was led by Scott Roberton of MarineMax, with support from Frank Brennan of MarineMax Newport.
Pairing interior and exterior design by Evan K. Marshall with the yard's robust engineering platform, the 28E is part of Ocean Alexander's E range, which caters for a growing shift in owner priorities and an increasing emphasis on greater interior volume, elevated crew comfort and adaptable exterior spaces.
Stepping up from their previous Sanlorenzo SL86, the owners were drawn to the 27.74-metre 28E for its commanding sense of volume and innovative layout.
The expansive aft deck - perfect for watersports, entertaining, or simply relaxing at the water’s edge - was a standout feature. Inside, the yacht's main-deck master, four spacious cabins, private sky lounge and generous crew quarters spoke directly to the couple’s desire for a layout that was, in their words, “both luxurious and operationally seamless.”
"These owners are very hands-on with their crew and place high value on thoughtful space planning,” said Roberton.“The 28E checked every box. It delivers true exploring capabilities while maintaining a refined, contemporary aesthetic that rivals any European builder. It was the natural next step.”
The yacht will be used privately and split its time between Newport, RI, and the Florida/Bahamas region.
