The 27.71 metre sailing yacht B5, listed for sale by Giorgio Passarella at Mediterranean Yacht Management, has been sold in an in-house deal.
Built in carbon fibre by Finland’s Nautor’s Swan yard to a design by German Frers, she was delivered in 2008 as a Swan 90FD model and most recently refitted in 2016/2018. Below decks, the interior is panelled in satin finished teak and accommodates eight guests in a master suite, two doubles and a twin, all with hanging lockers and en suite shower facilities.
In 2014 her central hydraulic system was upgraded and optimized to improve her regatta performance and she went on to provide a very creditable showing at the 2015 Rolex Swan Cup Caribbean regatta.
A comfortable saloon has dining for seven guests on the port side at a large rectangular table with a U-shaped settee and two armchairs, all upholstered in cream coloured leather. She is an accomplished performer and, while a maxi at heart, she is fitted out luxuriously and is by any standards a top class cruising yacht.
Rigging includes a four spreader mast with discontinuous shrouds by Offshore Spars. The rig is set up for easy handling with swept spreaders while the mast is a carbon fibre intermediate modulus, with a luff track for the mainsail. The masthead is a moulded carbon fibre unit. Under power, a 255hp Perkins Sabre engine gives her a cruising speed of 11 knots.
B5 was asking €4,500,000.
