The 40 metre sailing yacht was custom built by Royal Huisman in the Netherlands at their Vollenhove shipyard and delivered in 1996, with a refit in 2007. Ted Hood was responsible for the exterior design and engineering, whilst John Munford crafted the interior. ANAKENA accommodates up to eight guests and six crew members. She features an aluminium hull and superstructure, along with teak decks and 10,000-litre water tanks.
ANAKENA’s deck salon is equipped with large windows for ample daylight, with high tables on both port and starboard sides and a forward part designed for piloting, complete with joystick steering and a hidden partition for separation when needed. Below deck, the salon has teak panelling, a dining area, and a lounge. The guest area includes two twin staterooms with en suites and a full-beam master stateroom with two double beds, ample storage, and a well-appointed bathroom. The galley and crew quarters include a pantry, crew dinette, Captain’s cabin, and two bunk-bedded cabins.
