Team USA wins epic America's Cup battle

Oracle Team USA continued it's extraordinary run of race wins yesterday to snatch back the America's Cup from the grasp of Emirates Team New Zealand.

Despite having, at one point, a seemingly unassailable lead in the race series, Team New Zealand went on a losing streak unprecedented in the history of the America's Cup. For over a week, all Team New Zealand needed was one more race win to take the trophy, and yet they could do nothing about Team USA's incredible resurgence.

With the score tied at 8-8 going into yesterday's winner-takes-all race, the Americans had all the momentum and all the self-confidence, while the Kiwis looked beaten before the race even started. In the end, Team USA won the final race by 44 seconds to seal a 9-8 victory in the most exciting America's Cup for a very long time.

Check out our full report, and the November 2013 issue of Boat International will have a full report and photos from this incredible race.
