Christina O: the marriage of Jackie O and Aristotle Onassis

It seems only fitting that the Former First Lady of the United States and Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis would celebrate their nuptials on board Christina O in 1968after all, it belonged to Onassis. Once a vessel built for the Canadian Navy, the yacht was sold off at the end of WWII and bought in 1954 by the visionary. The 99-metre yacht is named after Onassis's daughter, Christina, while the O references his wife's new nickname, Jackie O. The luxury yacht was frequented by the likes of Marilyn Monroe, John Wayne, Elizabeth Taylor, Grace Kelley, and Frank Sinatra in her heyday, and continues as a popular charter yacht today. Interestingly, the yacht's bar (known as Ari's Bar) served as the first meeting place for John F. Kennedy and Winston Churchill.

In 1956, Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier celebrated their wedding on board Deo Juvante II -  the couple famously sailed into Monaco harbour, where the entire principality greeted them. The newlyweds then celebrated their honeymoon by cruising the coast of Corsica and Sardinia. The yacht was formerly owned by Aristotle Onassis, who bought her as HMS Noir, renamed her Arion and added her to his charter fleet (alongside the infamous Christina O). A couple of years later, Onassis gifted the yacht to Prince Rainier and Princess Grace as a wedding gift. In 2011, the yacht was once again renamed Grace in a nod to her Hollywood associations.
