The best tenders and dayboats at the 2017 Monaco Yacht Show

Askur

Rafnar knows a thing or two about coping with challenging conditions, as the yard is based in the Icelanic city of Reykjavik. Its ÖK hull form is renowned for having exceptional seakeeping characteristics and visitors to this year’s Monaco Yacht Show will be able to get up close and personal with the latest model. Askur is hull number five in the 11.15 metre Leiftur 1100 Patrol series, and she has been fitted with a pair of 300hp outboard engines that promise a top speed of 46 knots. Four shock-absorbing seats ensure that your guests can enjoy the ride from the shelter of the pilothouse, even when the going gets tough.

Blue Spirit 8.5m Tender

Dutch broker Euro Offshore will be bringing an 8.5 metre Blue Spirit Tender to this year’s Monaco Yacht Show, which would make an ideal companion to a large explorer yacht, given her stealthy black styling. Power comes from a 440hp Yanmar inboard diesel engine twinned to a Hamilton 274 waterjet system that promises a sporty ride for up to 11 guests.

Castoldi JT25

Italian jet-drive specialist Castoldi has a brand new model to show off at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show. Called the JT25, this 7.5 metre tender can carry up to 16 guests, with twin helm seats, an aft-facing bench and two large C-shaped wraps of seating. Those looking for the utmost speed can spec her out with a 370hp Yanmar diesel engine that promises 41 knots flat-out.

Fjord 42

German yard Hanse is returning to the Monaco Yacht Show this year and once again its 12.8 metre Fjord 42 will take centre stage. Developed in collaboration with Patrick Banfield of AllSeas Design, the newest model in the range can whisk 12 guests away for a day of fun on the water, reaching speeds of up to 43 knots thanks to a twin 435hp engine set-up.

Wajer 55

Seductive curves and thrilling performance combine in the new 16 metre flagship dayboat from Dutch yard Wajer Yachts. Designed in collaboration with Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design and boasting naval architecture by Vripack, this 38-knot speedster looks set to take the Côte d’Azur by storm. Three 435hp Volvo Penta IPS pod-drives ensure the utmost manoeuvrability and there’s space for up to 16 guests, so owners can host enviable parties on board. There’s even a compact tender garage for carrying one of the smaller models from the next yard on our list…

Williams Dieseljet 625

A perennial superyacht favourite, British yard Williams is bringing its largest jet-drive tender to Port Hercules this year. The Dieseljet 625 is ideal for carrying up to 11 guests ashore and the super-shallow draught means you can drive right up the beach. Out on the open water, this sporty tender is capable of speeds in excess of 40 knots.

Yachtwerft Meyer 9m Silverline Limousine

German yard Yachtwerft Meyer is returning to Monaco this year with a 9.2 metre Silverline limousine tender that boasts extensive glazing, giving up to ten guests superb views out to sea as they nip along at speeds in excess of 35 knots.

With many more exciting tenders and dayboats due to go on display from the likes of Carbon Craft, CNM and Apreamare, this year’s Monaco show is a real must-visit for those looking to freshen up their tender garage.
