Italian designer Gian Paolo Nari has announced a new 43.4-metre explorer yacht concept in collaboration with Turkish shipyard Aegean Yacht. The superyacht has been presented in two different styles: an explorer named Phobos and a navetta-style yacht named Deimos.
"The initial concept was to envision a vessel with great autonomy and a design that avoids unnecessary ornamentation, yet maintains recognisable and unmistakable lines," said designer Gian Paolo Nari. "I focused on simplicity, linearity, and clean composition, blending horizontal and vertical lines to create a profile that defines the distinctive signature we were aiming for."
Phobos and Deimos were developed on the same platform, sporting an identical interior layout with accommodation across five cabins. The full-beam owner's cabin is positioned on the main deck and features a 12-square-metre terrace overlooking both sides of the vessel.
The two superyachts also benefit from a 70-square-metre sundeck complete with a lounge area, sunbathing area, Jacuzzi, and an American bar served by a dumbwaiter. Deimos distinguishes itself from her sister concept with a second pool with a sunbathing area overlooking the beach club.
An aft-garage with side-door launch capability is also present in both versions, with Phobos, in true explorer fashion, featuring two "open-air garages". The first is located at the stern, which holds Jet Skis and a rescue tender and one in the forward cockpit that can accommodate a six-metre tender, as well as other toys.
Key numbers include a 8.2-metre beam, a draft of 2.8 metres and a maximum speed of 15 knots.
